Harry Potter And The Cursed Child Parts One and Two
Harry Potter And The Cursed Child is a play that follows on from the book series, right after the epilogue, 19 years after the final chapter. It centres around both Harry and his friends, and the next generation. The Wizarding World is mostly at peace, but there are murmurings, and things going missing. As always there is an underbelly, and a mission to clear it all up. It was sort of funny to see them in a whole new version of the Wizarding World, without Voldemort lurking somewhere waiting to strike.
It is a little different to read to the books, since it is a play. There's not many actions written down, not too much physical movement, mostly speech, so there are possible bits missing that you would physically see if you were watching this acted out on stage. But I do suppose that's the point.
The play was also written by two men, John Tiffany and Jack Thorne, and although JK Rowling was involved somewhat, it is a little different from their perspective.
There's time turners, spells and moving paintings, all your old favourite characters who are still alive and the relationships they have.
I'd recommend this to any Potter fan, and if you can see the play anywhere, go.
