Sometimes it’s not until you’ve used a product right to the bottom that you make your mind up about a product. Here are the products I’ve used up recently and my thoughts on them.
Botanics Rejuvenating Bath Elixir
This is such a relaxing addition to my bath. It smells amazing and makes me sit back and take a deep breath of its awesome scent. I think it does really help my muscles more than a standard bath too. I’ve already bought a new bottle and started in.
Original Source Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel
For a rather cheap shower gel, this is really good. I’ve tried other scents in the range in the past and liked those too so I did sort of know what I was buying. It lathers quite well and although I wouldn’t shave with it alone, it’s pretty good. It does what it should.
Clinique Anti Blemish Solutions Cleansing Foam
For an acne cleanser, this sure was drying. I had to use quite a thick moisturizer when I used this cleanser. I started this quite a while ago and just recently finished it after finding it in a basket. It was good when I had bad acne to draw everything out, but not so much now that my skin has changed recently. For that reason, I wouldn’t buy this again.
St Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub
With its exfoliating bits, this cleanser is awesome for my skin. Something in it really gets rid of the oil and grime, while the exfoliation gets rid of any dead skin. I use this once a day, and use a softer cleanser at the other end of the day. This stops my skin from completely drying out. I’ve already started on my next tube.
Batiste Dry Shampoo – Original
I bought this as my first ever dry shampoo but it took me forever to use it up. It works pretty well, but because my hair is so dark, it really needs a good brush to not leave white marks in my hair. I’ve replaced this with the dark hair version instead. I use it to give volume and to reduce the oily look if I should’ve washed my hair, but don’t have the time.
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer
For all sections of my face that need a creamy concealer, like under my eyes, this is great. I think this may be my third bottle. And because it’s Maybelline, you can get it at the supermarket. It lasts throughout the day, but is soft on your skin to apply and to remove with a micellar water or eye makeup remover. I’ll definitely keep repurchasing this one.
Redken Scalp Relief Dandruff Control
This shampoo saved my scalp as far as I’m concerned. I had quite bad dandruff and because of that, scabby and sore parts of my head. I started using this on my hairdressers recommendation and it worked a treat. It has cleared up my dandruff over the past year or so and I now get barely any. It stops my hair from getting oily too quick as well. I buy a new bottle every 6 weeks or so.
MAC Cosmetics Studio Sculpt Foundation
I had a good experience with this foundation at the start. I don’t know if my skin changed or if the foundation just got older but it didn’t work as well on me closer to the end of the tube, which is why it still has a bit in it, now dried out. It went on really well with both a brush and a sponge and a little water, depending on the coverage I was going for. Because of the other foundations I’ve tried working better for me, I don’t think I’d buy this again.
Moreish Facial Serum
I got this product in a beauty box, I think, so didn’t actually pick it out for myself. I used this serum for a while and didn’t see much of a result. It seems like a simple concept, but it just didn’t make any sort of change to my skin. I’d be interested if this had a positive effect on other people and what happened, because there was just nothing noticeable for me. I won’t be buying this product and probably also wouldn’t buy this brand.
