Podcasts I Love
I’ve been loving podcasts lately, they’re so easy to listen to while I go to the gym, do chores, drive around, or if I just want to chill for a little bit. I’m loving these so much, I figured I should share in case anyone else is interested. I mostly like business podcasts, but if you find any with great stories, laughs, or anything you love, let me know.
This is the one podcast you’ve probably already heard of. From This American Life, Serial investigates crimes and reveals new information that the public, and possibly the police didn’t originally know.
Season one centred around the murder of Hae Min Lee and whether her ex-boyfriend who was found guilty of her murder really did it. Season two follows the story of Bowe Bergdahl who walked off his army base in eastern Afghanistan and was captured by the Taliban and held for 5 years. Bergdahl faced dissertion charges when he was freed, so the team investigated why he walked off and why it took so long for him to be handed back to the US Authorities.
I loved this podcast because of the way they tell their story. The investigation isn’t always perfect and sometimes I wonder if things are being stretched to suit their story, bit overall it tells a tale of how they think reality differs from what was taken to court, and it forces me to think at least.
Gary Vaynerchuk is one of the world’s best social media agents. He’s also a great public speaker. This is a show abut social media, business and strategy. Watchers and listeners send in questions which Gary answers.
You can either watch the videos of this, on YouTube or through iTunes, or just download the traditional podcast, which is the audio from that same recording. It does mean that if something really visual happens, you might miss it with the podcast, but you can always go back and watch the video podcast or the original video on YouTube. A book was also created from this show, as well as an audiobook, both with slightly different than the show and each other.
I love this because it centred around social and content and that’s what I’m really interested in. Gary has so much confidence that it does actually rub off on you too.
Make It Happen
This podcast is all about making big things happen in business and in life. Jen interviews other business owners about their experience and what they have learnt over the years. She also does mini-episode where she elaborates on ideas.
I love this because Jen is so mellow and lovely that she’s really calming to listen to. The people Jen interviews are all amazing. They all have different experiences and work in different industries as well, so you can learn lots of different things from every one of them.
Kathleen and Shannon discuss lots of boss qualities and tips and tricks that would help any entrepreneur to better their business, but also to improve your quality of life. I’ve learnt lots of time saving and productivity tips, but also found out about programmes and software that would be awesome for a small business.
They also interview people, so you do get a wide range of beliefs and experience on most topics. I love this podcast because of Kathleen and Emily's passion, the way they get their point across and how much I have learnt.
