Petal Cupcakes | Review
Petal Cupcakes is a small cupcake store on Teed St in Newmarket, Auckland. I've bought myself their cupcakes a few times as a wee celebration or treat. I first tried them one time after getting an A on a major assignment a few years ago, and love to go there to treat myself.
Their cupcakes are ah-mazing. I have a sweet tooth and their icing always fills my cravings. They do all kinds of flavours from classics like red velvet but then they also have different ones like salted caramel or lavender and honey. My boyfriend found them quite rich, so if you don't have as much of a sweet tooth, I'd recommend getting a classic flavour that you know you'll like so that you can ease yourself into just how sweet and flavourful they are.
The store itself is super cute and tiny. Unfortunately, you can just buy the cupcakes and leave, there are no seats or tables. They do offer delivery, so if you can't make it to the store or want to gift some to someone you won't see, you can get them sent. If you can make it to the store, their staff are super nice and friendly and totally don't mind when you stand there uhming and ahing over what favours to choose.
The cupcakes are $5 each, 4 for $20, or 6 for $30 or 12 for $55. This pricing means that the cupcakes don't get any cheaper as you buy bulk, which is actually fine by me since unless I am buying to share with other people, I just buy one.
A florist in Auckland, Wild Poppies, sell gift packs that have flowers and Petal Cupcakes, so there's also that option if you're wanting an extra little something as a gift. FYI, I haven't tried their services, so can't truly recommend them.
If you are in the mood for cupcakes and live in Auckland or can get a delivery, I'd highly recommend you try them.
P.S I am in no way affiliated with Petal Cupcakes or Wild Poppies.
