New Year's Eve Look

I did a little experimenting with makeup to figure out what I want to wear on New Years Eve. What my face looked like at the end though was a kafuffle of all kinds of attempts, including an eye liner that added to this look made me seem gothic. But I wanted to share the look anyway.

I started with the Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation in Ivory all over my face and neck, then put my favourite creamy concealer, Maybelline Concealer in Fair, under my eyes, round the sides of my nose and on any spots I have on my forehead and chin at the moment. I powdered on MAC Studio Fix Powder in N4 all over but especially on my T-zone as I prefer to have a matte face. Since I am home for the holidays and have forgotten my contour, I went straight onto blush with MAC Well Dressed Powder Blush, I find I like to pack this on for a nighttime look and would probably use a darker blush if I owned one. I also added my new No7 Instant Radiance Highlighter on the tops of my cheeks for extra glow, which really made my face seem bright and cheerful.

For eyes, I made a base with the MAC Painterly Paint Pot. I use this as a primer as it keeps the eyeliner on and doesn’t crease. On top, I patted some MAC Blackberry Matte Eyeshadow all over the lid and blended it out. On top of that I packed on some MAC Soul Serenade Extra Dimension Eye Shadow which made the eye look a lot darker and added some glitz as it has shimmer through it. I ran the Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Liner Pencil in Pure White along my waterline to make my eyes brighter and fuller. For mascara I used Maybelline The Mega Plush Volum Express Waterproof Mascara on both my bottom and top lashes, doing quite a few layers on my top lashes. I would have curled my eyelashes first, but can’t find my curlers at the moment. I also would have filled in my brows had I not forgotten the eyeshadow and stick I like to use, one or the other not both by the way, so had actually forgotten the tools for both ways I do my brows. Fail.

I am planning to maybe just put lip balm on my lips since we'll be drinking and I really can't be bothered reapplying lipstick throughout the night. I will also be doing my usual curly waves for hair on the night, but am yet to pick an outfit…

On my toenails I have Ulta3 Party Shoes and on my fingernails I have OPI Tickle My France-y. I would have loved to wear glitter, but have also forgotten to pack those. Are you noticing a theme? I slept in and actually packed in a frenzied rush – also left my wallet behind.
